Module’s 3 and 4 Reflection

Module’s 3 and 4 Reflection

Module 3: Priority Setting Frameworks

The seven priority setting frameworks outlined this module. Those seven frameworks are Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, The Nursing Process, the ABC’s, safety and risk reduction, least restrictive- least invasive, survival potential, and acute versus chronic, urgent versus non-urgent, and unstable versus stable findings. The client care focus focuses on Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, which includes airway, breathing, and circulation framework. This topic focuses on the patient’s needs based on what is most important; least important being self actualization and the most important one being physiological needs. In order to apply these findings correctly, you have to include them in the clinical aspect, class aspect, ATI assessments, ATI support and remediation materials, and NCLEX preparation materials. At the end of the day, it is important to understand which client to see first. All patients are important but it is important to understand why you should see a certain client first. Always interpret, analyze, infer, and evaluate which patient should come first and you will be successful .

Module 4: Knowledge and Clinical Judgement

The ATI Helix of Success is a strategy used to illustrate how knowledge and clinical judgement form the basis for nursing practice. The two conceptual strands of the helix are knowledge and clinical judgement. As discussed in Module 2, the ten horizontal bars of the helix are client-centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, informatics, safety, client education, professionalism, leadership, and priority setting. These 10 bars guide and mold you into the best nurse you possibly can be and is a great way to feel confident in learning the nursing process. Along with those ten bars, the three types of learners we’re reviewed; visual, auditory, and tactile. I established that I am a visual learner and that I learn best from strategies that involve sight and hands on demonstrations. From this module, I can now focus more on learning visually to further develop my knowledge and clinical judgement.

  1. Good work; nice summary of the module, but I was particularly interested in your thoughts on how to use this new knowledge. Thanks for sharing.
