Video Prompting and Social Story

Above are two of the projects I completed for this class. The first one is a video prompting assignment I completed demonstrating my understanding of how to do a task analysis with a child. I demonstrated how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with an actor. I feel as though this showed my understanding of how to correctly complete a task analysis. This is relevant to my future career because whether I am a teacher or a health care professional, I am going to be teaching my patients or students how to complete certain tasks. For example, in the classroom I could be teaching a student how to wash their hands after they use the bathroom. As a healthcare worker, I will be teaching my patients how to take their daily meds. I could use a task analysis to ensure they are learning and completing the information correctly.

The second project I completed was a social story. There are going to be times as a teacher or health care worker that I need to help my student or patient handle certain situations such as the example above. I came up with this example showing that Henry recognizes the appropriate way to ask his friends how to join a game rather than just joining without asking. I am going to have to teach my students or patients how to complete certain tasks more appropriately. There are going to be teaching moments in any field of work that I go into.
