Nurses have a huge role in ethics regarding evidence implementation and generation. As nurses, we have to act quick and think fast. It is our jobs to provide our patients with the best care possible and in order to do so, evidence behind why we are doing something is crucial. There has to be a reason and explanation as to why we are doing something or else it would be ethically wrong to provide our patients with procedures or tasks that have no quality evidence behind why it’s happening. Nurses contribute to the ethical conduct of research and the implementation of research findings because we are the first hand people to act upon these research findings. Nurses are the ones making decisions for the patients focusing on their best interest and best possible treatment option. Sure doctors are making the plan of care for the patients but nurses see first hand what the patient needs and in order to give these patients the best care possible, evidence implementation and generation is crucial.
