Integrate Ideas

Integrate Ideas

Throughout this process I have learned how to integrate my ideas with others ideas in a conversation. Using tools such as “They Say I Say”, and “ The Little Seagull Handbook” I figured how to incorporate those ideas with my own. I learned how to manage and filter ideas to make my point. I learned how to use Text-to-Text connections by incorporating quotes and evidence into my work to make my ideas make more sense. Using other authors ideas to provide more information for my paper, I noticed that I found myself both using their ideas to prove some of my points but also to complicate my ideas. The relationship between their ideas and the evidence in my texts both confirmed, added, and challenged my papers. By challenging their ideas, it made it easier to prove my point and I think that using other authors ideas to prove my point, made the point of my paper more exciting and information filled. Embedding quotes was so helpful when there were times where I didn’t know how exactly to describe what I was trying to say. There were times where I didn’t know how to say something so by including quotes to tie my thoughts together it made it so that I didn’t have to come up with my own words. Also, it made it so that it seemed like there was clear evidence that other people were thinking the same thing. It was a good use of validation.
