4 Moves, Gee and Cuddy

4 Moves, Gee and Cuddy

Mushfake is something that I never thought I actually did in my life and it turn out that being or doing Mushfake is something I could refer to in my life. Gee states, “Mushfake,” resistance, and meta-knowledge: this seems to me like a good combination for successful students and successful social change.” I agree with Gee here because I agree with the fact that these three things is a good combination for successful students. This is something so accurate in my life. I think the following template can help me express where I stand in relation to Gee because I think that “Mushfake” is such a great way to look at life. It seems successful and I think it’s worth trying.

In Gee’s piece of writing, he explains how, “Discourses are not like languages in one very important regard. Someone can speak English but not fluently. However, someone cannot engage in a Discourse in a less than fully fluent manner.”, which I disagree with Gee because later he somewhat states “fake it ‘till you make it” which is contradicting his own argument. I think the following template can help me express where I stand in relation to Gee because it backs up my theory that he contradicts himself later in his writing.

Cuddy had many interesting points in her piece of writing that I for the most part agreed with except for, “…when we’re forced to smile by holding a pen in our teeth like this, it makes us feel happy.” I disagree with this statement because I think you fake a smile and still feel something other than happiness. Just by putting a pen in your teeth, I don’t think will make you feel happy. I know if I feel like I have to smile about I don’t necessarily want to smile about I am not always happy about it. I think the following template can help me express where I stand in relation to Cuddy because this is one thing I don’t agree with her and that’s because I’ve been in this situation where I was forced to smile and I actually didn’t want to smile at all.

Cuddy made so many interesting points in her writing that I never realized how prominent, “Fake it ‘till you become it.”, was. I completely agree with Cuddy here because I believe that you should fake it ‘till you become it because if you don’t have enough confidence in yourself fake it until you become it if that works for you. I think the following template can help me express where I stand in relation to Cuddy because I agree with the fact that if you want something bad or want to get somewhere bad, you should fake it ‘till become it.
